California Algebra II Practice: What Is Covered and How to Use It
This guide says what the California content standards cover in high school Algebra II, how the state test fits in, and how to use the practice on passvana.
What the California content standards cover in Algebra II
Mathematics
The California Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, which California also publishes course by course for high school. The Algebra II course covers complex numbers, polynomial and rational expressions, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions, and statistics and probability.
The state test
California's state test, the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), is taken in high school in grade eleven: the Smarter Balanced assessments in English language arts/literacy and mathematics. The California Science Test is given once in high school.
passvana practice is not the state test and does not copy it. There is no exam on these pages: it is practice, with an explanation for every answer.
How to use the practice
- One course, one pass: every question in Algebra II, with an explanation for every answer.
- A parent or guardian buys and signs in. We never ask for a child's name or email.
- Work through the questions topic by topic. Read the explanation after every answer, right or wrong.
- Use the Progress tab to see which topics need more time.
- A pass is for a fixed time (one, four or six months, or a year), paid once. It does not renew by itself, and buying again adds time to a running pass.
- New questions are added on a regular basis, every couple of weeks.
